It seems as Louisiana takes the phrase “twitter fingers” to another level when it comes to using derogatory language according to a recent study by Abodo, a rental listing company. Louisiana users came in at first place in “Potty mouth language” on twitter when  Abodo began the study, as a part of their series “The best places to live.” Over the course of eighteen months, the researchers compiled an overwhelming twelve million tweets that contained the derogatory slurs; more specifically, tweets that contained prejudice against blacks, transgenders, women and other subcategories. Louisiana scored that spot by averaging 1,155 derogatory tweets per 100,000, with Wyoming coming in last place at 120 tweets per 100,000. (Where’s Wyoming again?)  New Orleans was no stranger to the list, grabbing top spots when broken down by cities nationwide. Being from Louisiana and an avid twitter user, I am not shocked by the results; however, I do believe its apart of the culture because true “Louisianians” are very vocal on their opinions. I don’t think it should be deemed a bad place to live though! Check it out and let us know your thoughts! http://www.abodo.com/blog/tolerance-in-america/
